- The lowest Door to ED Provider time in the Atlanta Metro area with a median wait time of 14 minutes. This is 11 minutes below the state average and 8 minutes below the national average. We were even recognized for this awesome metric by CBS News.
- Received the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Award from the AHA and ASA
- This year we also received the Mission: Lifeline NSTEMI Gold and Mission: Lifeline STEMI Receiving Center Gold awards from the American Heart Association. Hospitals receiving the Mission: Lifeline Gold Awards are recognized for their outstanding performance by meeting or exceeding guideline therapy recommendations in treating patients with chest pain and heart attacks

10E is a 23-bed unit with an emphasis on care for patients with complex medical needs, Chronic Pain and diagnoses of medical issues such as Pneumonia, COPD, Heart Failure, Sickle Cell, Behavioral Health, Renal Failure, and Diabetes.
Unique opportunity to work on unit committees to improve quality outcomes. We also have a Unit Practice Council lead by frontline staff to promote positive change.
- We utilize staff lead huddles
- Daily discharge rounds with physicians.
- Close interdisciplinary communication to optimize patient care.
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4.
- We are seeking compassionate nurses with a desire to learn and promote quality patient outcomes.

As integral members of high-functioning, inter-professional teams, Unit 10E’s nursing team is on the frontline of care in our hospitals and operate with a full complement of specialties and the ability to care for medically complex patients.

The Ambulatory Infusion Center located at our Main Campus @ Clifton Road has 60+ chairs and treats 3200-3500 chemotherapy infusion center visits each month.
The acuity level consists of complex chemotherapy reigmens; a high volume of patients, many with high acuity; Populations consist of adult Oncology of all cancer types including Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant.
Most of our Registered Nurses hold the Oncology Nursing Certification. In our unit, RNs are key when it comes to patient education. In the AIC for new chemotheapy patients and regimens, the pharmacist may teach as a compliment to the education provided by the RN. Our direct care RNs are the experts and their feedback is important to leadership in the AIC. Their input helps drive quality and process improvement work.
Winship Nursing leadership offers opportunities for RNs to get Continued Education credit via nursing grand rounds, the oncology nursing symposium, monthly Lunch & Learns—in addition to the benefit all RNs are Emory have to earn free CE's through Continued Education Direct.
Preferred experience: Chemotherapy Infusion, Bone Marrow Transplant or Medical Oncology within the past 2 years. OCN Certification is a plus!
What makes a great Nurse for our Infusion Center you ask? Someone passionate about Oncology patients and providing high quality safe care.
Schedules:
Schedules for this unit can be five (8) hour days or four (10) hour days. Typically our Nurses work 2-3 weekend shifts per 6 weeks. The schedule options available are: M-F 8am-5pm or 9am-7:30pm.
