- Kidney, Liver, Pancreas are the organs we transplant (Kidney/Pancreas patients come from OR to the floor Liver Patients go to the ICU for a day after transplant)
- Specified drips for the transplant patient

Are you interested in being an instrumental member of our Medical ICU’s? If so, the MICU’s are a great fit for you. Our nurses in both 5TN and 5G/6G MICU practice with autonomy in a fast-paced environment. In the Medical ICU, you will develop skills with managing patients who may have mechanical ventilators, central lines, multiple vasoactive drips, CRRT (continuous dialysis), chest tubes, gastrostomy tubes etc.
• Number of beds: 17 (5TN MICU); 14 (5G/6G MICU)
• Patient Population/Diagnoses: Respiratory disorders, GI Bleed, DKA, Sepsis, Multi-organ Failure, complications of cancer treatment, pulmonary hypertension
• Targeted Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2

4400 is the designated stroke unit at Emory Decatur Hospital. In addition we care for patients with other neurologic illnesses, low risk cardiac conditions, and patients with other medical conditions. Our nurses obtain their BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification to care for this population. We are a 24 bed unit. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6. We have an active unit practice council. A Unit Nurse educator and an Education Coordinator are all available for assistance as needed.

On 6E you will be working with chest tubes, surgical wounds, hanging blood, anti-arrhythmic drugs, inotropes, pacing wires, trachs and LVADs.

- Patient Population/Typical Diagnoses: heart transplantation, coronary bypass grafts (CABGs), valve repairs or replacement, thoracic aneurysm repair, congenital heart defect repair, and ventricular assist devices (VADs).
