Emory University Hospital is seeking an RN to join our highly recognized, Beacon Awarded 14-bed Respiratory Medical Intensive Care Unit. This team cares for patients with, but not limited to, complex multisystem problems, such as, Acute Hypoxic Respiratory Failure requiring ECMO, ARDS, sepsis, shock states, heart failure, acute kidney injury, oncologic emergencies, electrolyte imbalances, and endocrine emergencies. Care includes patients requiring:
AirVo, BiPAP CPAP
Mechanical ventilation
Arterial blood gas monitoring
Titration of vasopressors
Infusion of paralytics with Train of Four monitoring
BIS monitoring
ABG Interpretation
Dysrhythmia interpretation

Fast paced free standing 50 bed Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTAC). Providing care to patients with respiratory, neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, oncological and other critically unstable patients. All patients require education and many require airway management. This facility offers- wound management, HD (Hemodialysis), PD (Peritoneal Dialysis), LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) to aid in reaching their optimal level of recovery. They are Disease Specific Certified by the Joint Commission in respiratory care, wound care, and acquired brain injury. Patients require an interdisciplinary approach from physicians, nurses, rehab, respiratory, wound care, and case management- all on site. Nurses practice with autonomy and are responsible for the care of patients with such diagnosis as:
- Sepsis
- ARDS or other respiratory disorders which require mechanical ventilation or ECMO
- Multi-system organ failure which may require CRRT
- Medical conditions such as GI bleeding, DKA, Alcohol withdrawal, Drug overdose

7E is a 23-bed Medical Cardiac and research unit that admits complex medical patients and patients with cardiac issues, primarily heart failure.
- The cardiac patients are placed on telemetry and are monitored by the unit staff/remotely by highly trained telemetry techs.
- All nursing staff are skilled to identify heart rhythms and are given heart failure education.
- Every staff will complete a needs assessment survey once they are hired to evaluate learning needs followed by educational sessions as necessary.
- Every staff that are hired into the unit will also receive CITI training in preparation to caring for research patients.
Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience
This unit received PRISM (Premier Recognition in the Specialty of Med Surg) award (2023-2026).
