Overview

This Nurse Manager will have 20 direct reports.

 

 

The Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center at Brookhaven is located inside the brand new, 180,000 square foot LEED-certified Emory Musculoskeletal Institute. We offer a full range of services for people of all ages to diagnose and treat orthopaedic, sports and spine injuries or chronic pain that can keep you sidelined from daily life.

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Plans, coordinates and directs the daily operations of a specific section/division.
  • Supervises clinical staff and facilitates communication with physicians and internal administrators to provide optimal patient and family-centered care.
  • Is recognized as a change agent and routinely leads efforts to strengthen organizational systems that support the mission, vision, and values of the department.
  • Adept at creative problem-solving, negotiating conflict, and collaborating with others.
  • Demonstrates insight, judgment, and clinically sound risk-taking.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience as an RN with one (1) year of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • All nurses employed in roles requiring an unencumbered nursing license must have a valid, active license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • Certification preferred.
  • BLS required and ACLS certifications may be required in designated departments.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium):

20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

 


ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Additional Details

Salary: $26.52- $48.27/hour, The grade and salary of the position are based on specific criteria met within the qualifications as well as the specialty area, relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials. Once you are in the role, you are eligible to progress to the following roles based on qualifications: Advanced Nurse Clinician, Nurse Scholar, EeMR Resource Preceptor, and Advanced Nurse Scholar.
