Emory Healthcare is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to lead our Virtual Medicine Team.

 

This position will be a hybrid work model including telehealth visits and onsite administrative responsbilities.  The ideal candidate will have minimum of 2 years APP experience, including leadership experience:

Description

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides oversight and leadership for greater than 10 APPs or at multiple locations or at discretion of department/service line
  • Reports to Chief APP Officer
  • Partners with Chief APP Officer to recruit, interview and hire new APPs
  • Collaborates with clinical and operational team members of the department/service line
  • Ensure standardized on-boarding with regular evaluations for new hires
  • Initiate, with Chief, any disciplinary or remediation needed for any team members
  • Scheduling and ensuring coverage of shifts for team members, ensures adequate patient coverage
  • Oversight of APP timekeeping
  • Performs mid-year and annual performance reviews and competency assessments for APPs on team
  • Maintains regulatory files for team members
  • Participate in leadership development programs, required meetings and annual retreats
  • Provide formal and informal clinical instruction, coaching and mentoring for all team members
  • Engages in monthly team meetings
  • Rounding on regular basis at designated site
  • Other duties as assigned
  • 0.3 FTE admin time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife, or CRNA/AA
  • Completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Certified Nurse Midwife, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, or Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant program
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), or as a Certified Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), or as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA), or as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA)
  • Masters degree or higher
  • PALS, BLS, or ACLS may be required in some areas

  • Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, Communicable diseases, Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work,
  • Travel may be required.
  • Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
