Description

We’re seeking a Preoperative (Pre op) Holding Area Registered Nurse with at least 2yrs of PACU, Emergency or ICU experience. Our Registered Nurses are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care.

  • Plans, coordinates and directs the daily operations of the Pre-Op and PACU departments.
  • Supervises staff and facilitates communication between the Operating Room, Interventional Radiology, and Endoscopy to provide optimal patient and family-centered care.
  • Exhibits excellence in problem-solving, negotiating conflict, and collaborating with others.
  • Takes leadership in the daily flow of the unit through creating patient assignments, facilitating patient through-put, being the liaison for anesthesia and the surgical/procedural providers.
  • Performs daily huddles with staff and communicates real-times updates to workflows that directly impact patient care

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master of Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Two years of nursing experience acute and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration.
  • Current RN license approved by the Georgia Licensing Board required. BLS certification required. ACLS may be required in some areas. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
  • Must meet all Clinical Nurse Employee Commitments.
  • Achieve electives/points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position.  
  • Must complete UCN/SNM criteria requirements within nine (9) months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488, completion of formal preceptor training workshop and enrollment in LEAP course.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure; Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors; Communicable diseases; Electrical shock; Floor Surfaces; Hot/Cold Temperatures; Indoor/Outdoor conditions; Latex; Lighting; Patient care/handling injuries; Radiation; Shift work; Travel may be required; Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators; environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
