Description

We're seeking an The Assistant Director, Quality and Patient Safety (ADQPS) is responsible for supporting the oversight, direction, coordination, and integration of quality and patient safety at the entity level. This role contributes to and executes strategic planning to help the entity/hospital achieve Emory Healthcare's mission and vision.

 

  • The ADQPS partners with entity executives, directors, and department leaders to continuously improve clinical outcomes and drive excellence.
  • Reports to: Director, Quality & Patient Safety Key Responsibilities Quality and Patient Safety Oversight
  • 1. Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of Infection control/prevention, clinical quality analytics and data reporting and Process improvement
  • 2. Collaborate with system corporate directors to standardize quality and patient safety functions across Emory Healthcare.
  • 3. Lead integration of performance improvement processes.
  • 4. Facilitate statistical process tools, improvement methodologies, and problem-solving strategies to drive continuous improvement.
  • 5. Participate in system-wide improvement initiatives.

 

  • Leadership and Collaboration 1. Provide direction for the Quality and Patient Safety Department to achieve organizational goals. 2. Build and maintain collaborative partnerships across all entity departments to ensure patient-centered, safe, and effective care. 3. Lead T2 Quality Huddle and present at T3 Hospital (or T4 PGP) and System Quality Huddles. 4. Actively round within the department and across the entity. 5. Provide regular updates to entity leadership on reportable events, quality metrics, and special projects.
  • Personnel and Workforce Management 1. Oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluation. 2. Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities. 3. Foster employee recognition and engagement to maintain an active, motivated workforce.
  • Operational and Financial Management 1. Collaborate with the Corporate Director of Quality Strategy & Operations on budgeting, purchases, and payroll. 2. Ensure timely internal reporting and communication to entity and system leadership. 3. Contribute to annual quality and patient safety reports. 4. Serve as the operational lead for the local entity in the Director's absence. Potential Areas of Oversight 1. Infection Prevention 2. Patient Safety 3. Stroke Team 4. Mortality Review 5. Sepsis 6. PPEC

         Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Education 1. Master's degree from an accredited institution in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a related quality field
  • 2. In lieu of a master's degree, candidates with 7 years of leadership experience in healthcare quality and accreditation may be considered.
  • Experience 1. Five years of experience in healthcare quality with a minimum of two years in a leadership role.
  • Preferred Certifications 1. Six Sigma 2. Lean Certification 3. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
