8:00am - 4:30pm/ Full Time/ 40 Hours
We are seeking a capable Registered Nurse / RN who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.
- Motility nurse will work independently to perform Manometry studies such as:
- Esophageal Manometry study including postprandial protocol
- 24-Hour PH Impedance Manometry study
- Anorectal Manometry
- Balloon Expulsion test
- Biofeedback therapy
- Download BRAVO studies and input data from patient diaries to the EMR
- Download preliminary analysis of the motility studies (this includes adjusting the markers for the studies) and uploading to EPIC system
- Motility nurses will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team (providers, clinical nurses and administrative staff).
- Motility nurse will organize and coordinate patient’s appointments and manometry schedules.
- Motility nurse will utilize Emory Healthcare organization, policies and procedures to deliver safe and effective care.
- Motility nurse will be responsible for full oversight of maintaining quality and safety in the manometry testing room.
- Motility nurse will report any equipment issues to manager and work on troubleshooting with product representatives.
- Capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.
- Routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations. Is able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for eachpatient/family.
- Serves as a resource to colleagues and strong advocate for patients/families.
- Consistently communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, the patient's family, and other members of the healthcare team. Delivers safe, dependable and effective care to a patient population independently utilizing the nursing process.
- Demonstrates developed assessment skills. Recognizes the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes. Continues to recognize own performance limitations, but requires minimal assistance.
- Documents the nursing process accurately and in the appropriate format (e.g. computer, clinical pathway, chart).
- Plans and implements patient care independently. Utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care.
- Evaluates patient's response to planned care and adjusts plan of care as appropriate.
- Identifies patient and family learning needs and makes recommendations to resources regarding those needs.
- Incorporates AACN Synergy Model into clinical practice.
- Functions as Charge Nurse when assigned. Orients staff or students as assigned in absence of designated preceptor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND A. 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR B. Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program. OR, 2. Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years. *Exceptions: 1. *Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure are eligible to transition into this role while completing the RN Resident Program. 2. Emory LPNs enrolled in an Emory ADN program as of 3/30/2025 must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
- BLS certification required and ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire.
- Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty.
