Description

We're seeking Acute Care an Critical Care Facility Float Registered Nurse / RN, responsible for providing clinical resources in a variety of patient care departments throughout an EHC operating unit/facility. This individual is a capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. This individual:

 

The float pool clinician expects to work in different clinical areas of an EHC facility based on skill set, patient volume, acuity, and the patient care and operational needs of said facility/OU.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • 1. Routinely uses acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to respond to changes in clinical situations.
  • 2. Is a capable clinician who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population
  • 3. Is able to apply the Synergy Model for Care in practice, and use this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family. 
  • 4. Identifies complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, abnormal diagnostic data and learning needs.
  • 5. May function in the Charge Nurse role and make patient care assignments.
  • Thoroughly documents all aspects of patient care, following established charting procedures.
  • Participates in orientation of new staff and may serve as a preceptor.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required Qualification Requirements: 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

 

24 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years.

 

 Education / Experience:

  • *Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND A. 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR B. Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.

OR,

  • Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years

Exceptions:

  1. *Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure are eligible to transition into this role while completing the RN Resident Program.
  2. Emory LPNs enrolled in an Emory ADN program as of 3/30/2025 must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.

Licensure:

  • A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.

Certification:

  1. BLS certification
  2. ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire
  3. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
