Department Overview: 

Nurses in the Telehealth Nursing department demonstrate strong competency in using various telecommunication technologies to provide direct virtual nursing care. Telehealth Nursing RNs triage, prioritize patient needs, collaborate with patients to develop care plans, direct them to the appropriate level of care, and provide referrals to Emory services and other resources to ensure a comprehensive care experience. Telehealth Nursing LPNs assist patients with prescription management across specialties. 

 

Required for this role:

  • Proficiency in Quality Improvement Methodology, Data Collection, and Analysis; experience with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. 
  • Experience with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records is essential.

Description

8am-4:30pm / Monday-Friday / Full Time / 40 hours

 

We are seeking a capable Virtual RN Quality Management Specialist who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

 

  • The Virtual Nursing Quality Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care within a high-volume virtual telehealth program handling 10,000-15,000 patient interactions daily.
  • This role focuses on standardizing protocols, monitoring performance, enhancing patient safety, and driving continuous improvement in virtual care settings.
  • The specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders to develop and implement quality management strategies that improve patient outcomes and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to high-quality and safety standards across all virtual care activities. 
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided through virtual interactions. 
  • Analyze data from virtual visits to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Lead efforts to ensure the prevention of misdiagnoses, medication errors, and data breaches. 
  • Refine communication practices and streamline processes to reduce wait times and improve patient interactions. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a complex healthcare work environment; 5 years preferred.
  • Experience with Quality Analytics and/or Patient Safety Management preferred. 
  • Valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the state licensing board.
  • Active Georgia (GA) nursing license, eligible for licensure in GA.
  • Active compact/multi-state license (eNLC) within 60-days of hire. 
  • Proficiency in Quality Improvement Methodology, Data Collection, and Analysis; experience with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. 
  • Strong critical thinking, data synthesis, and computer skills.
  • Experience with telehealth platforms and electronic medical records is essential.
  • Successfully complete orientation and training program. 
  • Maintain competencies and ongoing professional development for all components of virtual nursing and quality management. 
  • Consistently meet quality, safety, and productivity metrics.
