Description

The Virtual Nurse (VN) is a registered nurse (RN) who works remotely from a centralized location and partners with the in-person primary nurse and team.

  • The VN advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional, spiritual, and clinical support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The VN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The VN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The VN collaborates with, and assists in guiding care delivered by the interprofessional team. The VN will perform tasks that may include admissions, discharges, patient education, rounding on patients, performance improvement, etc. Components of the role include the following:

 

  • The VN will provide an additional level of support to patients, and the primary in-person team. The VN will leverage advanced technology to collaborate with the in-person primary nurse and interprofessional teams in order to achieve positive patient outcomes and provide real-time clinical decision support as defined in the departmental workflows. The VN will be integrated as an important part of EHC care team and will have the opportunity to establish trusting relationships with the rest of the clinical team.”


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

4 years’ experience as an RN working with a diverse patient population in inpatient areas. Most recent in the last 2 years. Certification in area of expertise preferred.
