Description

Shift: Other

Part-Time  24 Hours

Location: Emory Decatur Hospital

  • Educates new mothers on all phases of breastfeeding including reasons for breast feeding, care while breast feeding, and information on how to breastfeed.
  • Assists with processes and expressing of milk using breast pumps. Provides support to patients and responds to questions.
  • Assists physicians in diagnosing breast disease.
  • Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate.
  • Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
  • Advises physicians of any physical conditions affecting the new mother that impact on ability to breast feed.
  • May provide training to other staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of a certified nursing school. Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification required.
