Corporate Director of Nursing Professional Development Innovation
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Strategy:
o Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance nursing professional development and career advancement.
o Lead and inspire a team of nursing educators and professional development specialists.
o Collaborate with senior nursing leadership across hospitals, clinic practices, and service lines to integrate innovative professional development initiatives with broader organizational strategies.
2. Program Development and Innovation:
o Design, implement, and evaluate innovative professional development programs, including mentorship, residency, and leadership development programs.
o Utilize cutting-edge practices and technology to support the continuous professional growth of nursing staff.
o Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to professional development and career progression.
3. Career Pathways and Advancement:
o Develop and maintain clear, structured career pathways for nursing staff at all levels in partnership with EHC Human Resources.
o Provide resources and support for nurses to pursue advanced education, certifications, and specialty training.
o Facilitate internal mobility and career progression opportunities for nursing staff.
4. Education and Training:
o Oversee the development and delivery of educational programs and training initiatives to ensure nursing staff are competent in current clinical practices, digital integration, and emerging trends.
o Develop and implement continuing education programs to meet the needs of nursing staff.
o Ensure compliance with continuing education and certification requirements.
5. Mentorship and Coaching:
o Establish and maintain mentorship programs to support the professional growth of nursing staff.
o Provide coaching and career counseling services to help nurses achieve their career goals.
o Foster a culture of mentorship and peer support within the organization.
6. Innovation in Learning and Development:
o Promote and support innovative learning methodologies and technologies in nursing education.
o Lead research initiatives to explore new approaches to professional development and career advancement.o Implement innovative tools and digital platforms to enhance learning and development experiences.
7. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, HR, the CNOs, and external stakeholders on matters related to professional development and career advancement.
o Represent the organization at professional conferences, workshops, and other industry events.
o Collaborate with academic institutions and professional organizations to support nursing education and development.
8. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
o Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all professional development and career advancement initiatives.
o Ensure that programs and opportunities are accessible to all nursing staff.
o Foster an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs and aspirations of nursing staff.
Minimum Qualifications: (Must have)
• Education: Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field. Doctorate strongly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on professional development and career advancement.
• Certification: Current RN license and certification in Nursing Professional Development (e.g., NPD-BC) or related specialty preferred.
• Skills:
o Strong leadership and team-building skills.
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o Experience in development of digital competencies for nurses.
o Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
o Proficiency in educational program development, implementation, and evaluation.
o Ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position.
May require occasional travel to various healthcare facilities.
Work primarily in an office setting with frequent interaction with clinical staff and patients.
