JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The role entails collaboration with the VP of APPs and Anesthesiology Senior Leadership in devising a strategic plan for the Anesthetist cohort. It involves managing annual operating plans with a focus on anesthetist labor in relation to demand and volumes across Operating Units. This includes monitoring monthly labor reports to evaluate Anesthetist value and productivity. The leader also works with physician and administrative teams to identify Anesthetist practice needs, growth planning, and labor management.

 

Key Areas:

1. Program Development: Collaborates with Senior Anesthesiology leadership to develop and implement new opportunities to optimize clinical care. Works to integrate the anesthetist model to be inclusive of both CRNAs and CAAs.
2. Operations: Oversees Anesthetist-associated metrics, implements programs to support Anesthetist accountability and requirements regarding compliance, billing, and documentation.
3. Recruitment and Retention: Partners with Talent Acquisition and Anesthesiology Leadership to support the recruitment of Anesthetists. Develops ongoing recruitment plans.
4. Clinical Outcomes: Identifies and develops process and outcome metrics to ensure quality of care and patient satisfaction.
5. Professional Development: Fosters an environment for continual learning, develops a comprehensive orientation/onboarding program.
6. Competency Evaluation: Develops a framework to ensure compliance with mandatory initial and ongoing performance competency evaluation.
7. Research: Fosters development of an organizational culture which encourages and supports Anesthetist research and publication efforts.
8. Compliance and Health Policy: Ensures and documents compliance with state medical and nursing boards.

 

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, and Licensures:

- Graduate of an accredited CRNA or CAA Master’s Degree program.
- 7 years of experience as an Anesthetist, with at least 5 years in the Chief Anesthetist or higher-level leadership capacity.
- Licensed or eligible to practice in the State of Georgia. Certified by NBCRNA or NCCAA.
- Must maintain biannual certification through the submission of CMEs.
- BLS from AHA required.
- Prefer an MBA or MHA or MS in Healthcare Administration/Management.
