Description

Have you ever dreamed of being a part of a team that provides exceptional care? Come join our award-winning complex surgical team and guide our patients to new horizons as a lung transplant nurse. On 8E you will be working with chest tubes, epidural, PCA's, tracheotomies, telemetry, various cardiac drips, and mixing and administering pulmonary hypertension medications. 

 

  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Patient Population/Typical Diagnoses: Lung abnormalities and malignancy, esophageal and gastric obstructions and perforations, AAA or thoracic aneurysms, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac valve repairs, and peripheral arterial disease
  • Targeted Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3-4

 

8E is the only acute care unit in the Emory Healthcare system with "Patient Excellence" scores above 90th percentile for the past four-consecutive years and is a winner of the Beacon award. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years or recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification required and ACLS may be required in designated departments.
  • Exceptions: Individuals currently employed as a LPN within the EHC system at the time of completion of an accredited RN program and becoming licensed as a RN will be considered eligible to move to the Nurse Clinician title while matriculating through the Resident program.
