We're seeking a Registered Nurse IVF Coordinator, to manage all patients in the Emory Reproductive Center, but is the primary coordinator for in-vitro patients. The coordinator organizes, initiates, and follows-up on all infertility services. Specific job duties include:


  • Provides education to the IVF patient population and triages patient care for efficient infertility office operation. Works with the physicians and staff to provide timely professional clinical services for IVF patients. Serves as a resource to lesser experienced nurses and to support staff.
  • Provide patient education and consultation to explain and define complicated medical treatments and procedures, as well as perform injection training and medication education. Provide emotional support to patients and family members throughout the course of treatment and afterwards.
  • Manage the care of patients, including, but not limited to In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Monitor and track patients through treatment and ensure quality care is administered and respond to patient issues and/or concerns.
  • Develop and maintain a partnership with communication between Physician and Patient to facilitate and navigate through treatment and follow up. Receive and maintain laboratory, radiology and other test results and communicate results to physicians and patients. Must have effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Must be able to work with anxious patients who may be demanding and /or sensitive, due to the nature of their medical condition. Must be able to establish a daily patient call schedule for patient follow up after completion of labs, tests and IVF procedures.
  • The IVF coordinator will work closely with reproductive endocrinologists on patient treatment plans to develop and follow an IVF process that adequately meets the needs of the patients. Must be able to work in a team oriented environment with patients, peers, staff and other members of the health care team.
  • Must work in an organized manner and complete work in a timely manner, with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is imperative. Must be able to handle difficult situations with courtesy, diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Must have a history of demonstrating consistently high quality service oriented behavior towards patients, their partners, physicians and other staff at all times.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely documentation as required for patient case management, patient care and IVF retrieval/transfer procedures, in addition to adhering to HIPAA and FDA rules and regulations at all times. Collaborates with members of the healthcare team to determine patient needs and needs of significant others in planning and treatment. Attend scheduled staff meetings. Performs other related duties as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Three or more years as an IVF nurse in a fertility center; at least 5 years experience in GYN/OB or women's health. Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. BLS and ACLS certifications required.

    Salary range: $28.68- 52.20/HR
  • The salary of the position is based on specific criteria met within the qualifications as well as the specialty area, relevant experience, skills, performance and internal equity. This position is eligible for shift differentials.

Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
