A fast paced 22 bed medical-surgical unit with an emphasis on neuro and vascular patients, stroke certified and magnet recognized. An established nursing culture valuing support, encouragement, learning, empowerment, and fun. Post-operative craniotomy, Post-operative femoral popliteal bypass, Post- operative amputations, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Blood clots, Seizure, Strokes and much more. Dedicated Education Unit where bedside nurses serve as their primary preceptors for Emory nursing students and introduce them to nursing in a hospital clinical setting. Weekly Stroke rounds with the ESJH Stroke coordinator and Neurology to uphold Stroke core measures and encourage deep dives into stroke infarct vs actual clinical presentations with nursing focus.
