As the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia, Emory Healthcare is transforming health care and advancing medical discoveries. We are proud to be the only health care system in Georgia with four Magnet®-designated hospitals because we know that designation reflects our commitment to collaborative, evidence-based care that focuses on the patient.
Emory University Hospital (EUH) received its second Magnet®-designation in 2018 and Emory University Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital (EUOSH) received its second designation in 2021. Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital has been recognized as a Magnet hospital since 1995 and earned its sixth straight Magnet designation in 2019 making it the first community hospital in the world to earn six consecutive designations. In 2020, Emory Johns Creek Hospital (EJCH) achieved Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a reflection of its nursing professionalism, teamwork, and superiority in patient care. With EJCH’s achievement, Emory Healthcare is the only health system in Georgia with four Magnet-designated hospitals.
What Magnet® Designation Means to Us
Our nurses are integral members of high-functioning, interprofessional teams in hospitals and clinics that are united in a commitment to excellence and outstanding patient care. From our robust nurse residency program to our Professional Lattice for Advancement in Nursing (PLAN), we are committed to connecting our nurses to the positions, clinical education and mentoring that enables them to perform at their best and build their clinical expertise.
And, because we believe world-class nursing deserves world-class compensation, we have recently redesigned our nursing compensation structure to support that excellence.
Working for an organization that pushes the bounds of what’s possible doesn’t just make this an amazing place to work – you do.
